"We had a great experience recording at The Compound. We did the track live and took several stabs at it. Then sat back and listened and went with the best one. This song was fun cause not all songs can be done this easy or with that same approach. The track it self is about the feeling that someone gets right before bursting into tears or screaming your head off at something. It's that second in your life where we somehow decide how to react to something traumatic or something that could be a life changing event. It's a great photo to capture. I tried to capture it through words."

"I work at the Compound Studio several times a year, and I own my own studio. I can't think of a better endorsement than that. It's my go to when I need to get into a nice big space with some good vibe.
Anthony has always been a solid engineer and producer, and the place is filled with all of his funky vibe drums, shakers, amps and guitars. You can always find the right tool for the job. I think a few of my pieces of gear have crept out of my space and ended up living there."

"I wrote this song about a fictitious character named "Firecracker." She is loosely based on a middle-aged redhead woman I met at the Auld Dubliner in downtown Long Beach. Anthony fortunately approached Molly and I one night when we were playing an acoustic set at 4th street Vine in Long Beach with a few other outstanding artists. He liked the song so after the show we went over to the Compound and laid it down.
Special thanks to Trader Joe's for the Powerberries which kept us going and pelvic air thrusting until 4am!"

"The Compound is where I fell in love with making records. I grew up watching Anthony and my pops capture magic, and I treasured every moment I got to be a part of it. I'll never lose what I've gathered there."

"We met Marc Ford in Spain at a festival we were both playing in the summer of '07. A few weeks later we played together in Chicago, our hometown, and that's where Marc expressed interest in producing the band. He said 'I've been producing at this great recording studio in Long Beach, if you ever find yourself in Southern California, it'd be cool to make a record.'"
"The Grace and Melody sessions were awesome and we really learned alot about how great records are made. Both Marc and Anthony had amazing ideas for our songs, and arrangements. This cut of Marc's song "Two Mules and a Rainbow" was recorded late one night during those sessions: one take, no overdubs. We had already been doing the song in our live shows, so after working all day on the album, we all jumped in the room, turned the amps nice and loud and this is what happened. Enjoy."
